King of Queens
In the popular television show, King of Queens, we view a husband as they go through their daily life. Doug and Carrie are a very blunt couple who always tell it how it is. Doug is a overweight male, and everything he does is funny. Carrie is a slender, pretty female. This proves that it is socially exceptable for males to be overweight moreso than it is for females. The fat man in a television show is always seen as the funny, loveable guy. The fat woman is seen as overweight. This is a double standard that exists in our society today.

Axe Commercial
Recently, I was watching television and an Axe commercial came on. The commercial had a man applying Axe shaving cream to his face. As the man inhaled, thousands of little, gorgeous women flew up his nose and started having a party. All of the women featured in the commercial were very arractive females dressed in minimum spandex clothing. The commercial's producers create an illusion that, if you use Axe shaving cream, those same women are going to flock to you. Women are seen as nothing more than eye candy in this commercial, and it is very obvious that they are being objectified. Nowhere in the commercial do the women seem to have any intelligence at all. They are just there to throw a party because you are using Axe shaving cream. However, men who see the commercial unconciously make a mental note that if they use Axe shaving cream will get the ladies.
